BECOME A PARTNER
The Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program (IFSP) provides an opportunity for forest industry partners to strengthen and increase partnerships with local Indigenous communities and to develop workforce initiatives that include training and employment opportunities needed to sustain a skilled workforce, especially in rural areas.
Our relationships with First Nations communities, organizations, and individuals are the foundation, and key, to the success of the Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program and enhances the Forestry Council's ability to recruit, mentor, and connect students with industry partners.
We assist both the student and the industry partner in efforts to increase First Nations' success, participation, and the diversity of the workforce.
Proven Success
Since the launch of the program in 2012, a total of 98 Indigenous students have received an Indigenous Forestry Scholarship to support their studies and work experiences in a variety of specialities and programs.
